Be creative - even when you're not!

We love that Leah, founder and designer of Craft Make Do is a firm believer there is creativity in everyone, but that doesn't necessarily mean you need to be an artist to create something beautiful with cross stitch and embroidery!

The best part of her crafts is that they are all about following the well-laid out patterns, taking time out of a busy schedule, and having fun!

“I hear a lot of people say, 'oh I can't do that because I'm not creative.' I truly believe that everyone is creative in different ways, however the fun part of cross stitch and embroidery is that you don't need to believe that you're creative, you just need to be able to follow directions.”

Craft Make Do - Leah Bartsch, and her Bees Embroidery Kit
These kits have been so popular over the Christmas and New Year period - with people of all ages & skill levels being inspired by the modern, vibrant designs that Leah has created!

Leah established Craft Make Do in September 2020 to facilitate fun, creativity and discovery. She helps people find their creativity and learn new skills or a new hobby, either on their own with one of her DIY craft kits or in live workshops. Prior to Craft Make Do, she was a jewellery and suit accessories maker under the brand, Dressed for Sunday. In 2019 she started to look for new ways to use her skills as a self-taught maker and began to explore the idea of facilitating workshops. Fast forward a few months and Craft Make Do was born.

So as well as being a premium quality design, every kit has everything you need - plus links to her online tutorials and membership, so the learning can continue!

I love seeing people discover (or re-discover!) a new hobby. I love that I'm giving people an opportunity to destress and unwind. I love seeing the enjoyment that my kit creations bring. I particularly love it when someone who has never stitched comes back after picking up one of my kits and says, I taught myself, I love it and I'm now addicted!

There's a lot that goes into each design created by Leah - not to mention the hours of compiling the kits, managing her online workshops and how-to-video guides! Coming later in February to her collection is this gorgeous Australian-themed embroidery kit:

“I designed it ages ago and originally stitched it in a block colour thread, but something didn’t quite gel which is why I never released it. Towards the end of last year I started playing around with variegated threads and decided to stitch this design again using a pink-apricot colour. And I fell in love 😍

We can't wait for this release in February - so be sure to stay tuned, follow Leah's social media pages @craftmakedo- and why not discover a new pattern from Craft Make Do to try this summer.

We've even collaborated with Ben Murray Wines, Nomad Candle Co. and Chocolate by Peter M for some fabulous Stitch & Sip Bundles!

Barossa

Welcome to the Barossa, a place that encapsulates the essence of South Australia and serves as both our home and inspiration for our collective.

The Barossa community acknowledges and pays respect to the Ngadjuri, Peramangk and Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the Barossa and Adelaide Hills region.

In the 19th century, German and English pioneers planted the first vineyards and laid the foundation for the region's viticultural legacy. Today, the Barossa stands as one of Australia's most renowned wine regions - beyond this, the Barossa is a hub of artistic expression and creativity.

The region is home to a diverse community of talented artisans, from painters and sculptors to chefs and musicians. They draw inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes, charming villages, and vibrant cultural heritage that define the Barossa.

The Barossa isn't just a place—inspires us to create amazing experiences, products, and memories. We're here to share the magic of this incredible region with you.
