Going back many years ago, a common part of the vineyard management was that all winter vine cuttings were burnt in a fire cart. The horse would pull the cart between the vineyard rows and cuttings were thrown into the cart, which was continuously burning. The Grenache vines are some of the oldest plantings on the Riebke family estate, so this special Grenache pays homage to this timeworn vineyard practice.
Lost Penny Wines 2019 Fire Cart Grenache:
From the vineyard where lost pennies can be found from years gone by... this wine is like a unique treasure and will continue to evolve in the years ahead.
Fruit was sourced from the Reibke family vineyard in the Northern Barossa region of Ebenezer, giving a style of elegance, complex black fruit characters and sweet spice from the French oak barrel.
